ANOTHER Big Announcement!

Well the time is almost here! We are leaving Austria and heading back to the States on Dec. 19th. Our visas are up here in Salzburg and we decided that we wanted to have our sweet baby back in the States. There is a catch though. After the baby is born in June, we will stay in Atlanta for a few weeks and then we are off to Singapore again in August but this time for two years. Although I would love to move to Atlanta and stay, Jason's job beckons. I am just glad that his job will allow us to move back to the States so I can have the baby. I am also thankful that Jason is willing to sacrifice having a crazy travel schedule and hours when we are back just so I can be back to Atlanta during this special time. So needless to say, this year will be crazy for us but we are so very excited for all of our upcoming adventures! So get ready everyone, we are coming home!

As a bonus, here is a picture of our sweet baby! :)

See you soon!! xx

Our Visit to Stonehenge

When we were in the UK a couple of weeks ago, Jason and I had the chance to visit Stonehenge. As you probably know, is it one of the most historic sites in the world. Archaeologists believe that it was constructed between 3000 BC-2000 BC. It was added to UNESCO's list of World Heritage Sites in 1986. For more information, you can go here.

The drive out to Stonehenge was so beautiful. It was a pretty cloudy day but the scenery was amazing. There were tons of rolling hills with sheep and the countryside was just beautiful. It looked just like the movies!

Our first stop was Stonehenge where we of course got to get up close to the stones and tour around them. The stones are blocked off by ropes though, so you can not touch them. It was still a very neat thing to see and it is just crazy to think about how old they are and that they are still standing after such a long period of time.

After our visit to Stonehenge, we headed over to Avebury where there are more stones from the same time that you can go up to and touch. We walked around the sheep and got up close to the stones. And yes, I chased some of the sheep. ;) We ate at a nice little pub called the Red Lion Inn, which was very cozy and delicious.

Overall, it was a very successful day learning about Stonehenge. I am so blessed to have been able to go to yet another destination that I have read about in history books.

Here are some pictures.

Kait's Visit

I know, it's been forever since I last posted. Things have been crazy around here, to say the least.

Kaitlyn joined me on my flight back to Salzburg. She visited Jason and I for 16 days. During that time, I showed her around Salzburg, we went to a wedding in Munich and then to Oktoberfest, we visited Prague and then we went to Italy for a day. Jason worked during the weekdays so it was just Kaitlyn and I. We had a lot of fun shopping, going out for lunch, and hanging out with some of my friends. Then on the weekends the three of us went out to dinner, to a couple of bars, visited the castle and just hung out.

We had a lot of fun with Kaitlyn while she was here. We just wish she would have come sooner. Better late than never, I suppose. Anyhow, here are a few pictures of her trip with us.

We had a blast with you, Kait! We can't wait for you to visit us during our next adventure!! xx

Oktoberfest 2012

Saturday was the last day of Oktoberfest 2012 in Munich. Of course, Jason, Kaitlyn and I just had to go (oh, in case you didn't know Kaitlyn is Jason's daughter and she is in town for a visit. So fun!!) It ended up being perfect because we were invited to Jason's colleague's wedding in Munich on Friday night so we stayed the night and spent all of Saturday at Oktoberfest.

We woke up bright and early and took a short train ride to the festival. When we arrived, all (well, most) of my memories came flooding back at the great time I had last year at Oktoberfest with my best friend Jessica and her boyfriend Michael. I must have gotten a little too tipsy last year though because I had no idea there were so many rides. There were full blown roller coasters for crying out loud. How did I miss that?! Anyhow, after standing in line for a longgg time we finally made it into a tent. Success!! I am still shocked we got in being that it was so crowded. We were so happy when we did because the atmosphere is just so much fun. HERE is a short clip I took with my iPhone. It's a shame because you can't really tell that a band is in the center playing fun music and people were dancing on the tables. Jessica, you know what I mean! I seriously think that everyone has to go to Oktoberfest at least once in their lifetime. It is the biggest, craziest, most fun party ever. Plus, you get to get dressed up in dirndl and lederhosen. Does it get any better than that?! As we were leaving we walked around and the people watching was just amazing since there were so many drunk people stumbling all over the place. Then there was this hill where a ton of people laid and passed out (as you will see in a photo below). All in all, we had a great time together. What a great memory that I will never forget. I must say though, the highlight of my day was seeing Jason in his lederhosen. I should have taken a photo from the back. ;)

Can't wait to go back again!! :)
