1st Anniversary Weekend

For our 1st Anniversary weekend, Jason and I went to Vienna. Jason had never been and we decided that it was a great place to go that isn't too far from home. He took Friday off so we spent Friday walking around the city.

On Saturday, we went to the Vienna Zoo and Schonbrunn gardens. Jason and I always love to go to different zoos. The Vienna Zoo was interesting because it is the oldest zoo in the world. They obvously have made renovations but it was just fun to read about the history of it and to see all the animals. Right outside of the zoo is Schonbrunn Palace which is just gorgeous. Don't believe me? Google it. That's my answer to everything. ;)

On Sunday, we decided to leave Vienna after breakfast and on our way home we stopped at Mondsee, which is a gorgeous lake area outside of Salzburg. We rented a little electric boat and putzed around the lake. Jack wasn't too happy about this and was glad to get back onto solid ground. We had lunch at a nice cafe on the water and then walked around the city. The church in Mondee is the church that is in The Sound of Music, so we of course stopped to see that as well. Then, we ended our afternoon with gelato (well I did anyway, Jason couldn't eat it because of his milk allergy). It was such a picture perfect day.

Monday was our actual anniversary and Jason had to work. When he got off work, we walked to dinner at a lovely restaurant in Salzburg called the Blaue Gans (Blue Goose). It was so nice. And the walk home was just gorgeous! I love that in Europe you walk everywhere and the scenery is amazing. So romantic!!

The weekend was picture perfect and we had a lovely Anniversary. Thank you everyone for all of the well wishes. We couldn't be happier!! One year down, the rest of our lives to go. xx
