Among all the wedding plans, I decided to get my scuba diving certification so Jason and I can go diving together in Mexico during our honeymoon (talk about getting it at the last minute!!). Jason has been diving since he was a teenager and always wanted a dive partner. So, as soon as I got to the U.S. I found a dive shop that could work around my hectic schedule.
Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon were my first pool sessions. There, I learned how to use all the scuba equipment, completed all my swimming tests, etc. Over the weekend we spend about 8 hours in the pool total. Class got out early on Sunday and my instructor and I decided that I was ready for my first open water session. We drove to Lake Lanier, where I completed my first two dives. At first, Jason and my instructor were making fun of me because I was wearing two full wetsuits and one shorty. If you can't recall, it was 61 degrees out on Sunday. I am so glad that I did so because it was freeeezing!! But, it wasn't as cold as it was this morning, when I completed my last two open water dives. We started our last dives at 9am this morning and it was a whopping 51 degrees outside. Thank goodness the water was warmer (not by much!) than the outside temperature. Oh well! After our dives this morning, we went back to the shop where I got my temporary scuba certification card. My real card will be sent to me in the mail. Yay, I did it- just in the nick of time!! ;) Jason, I hope you know how much I love you!! ;)
Well, we tie the knot in 4 days. It really is so surreal! I can't wait to marry the man of my dreams and go diving together in paradise (where it will be much, much warmer!)!!
